#10 Deafheaven: Roads To Judah
There must be something strange in San Francisco's waterline since I don't know what these guys been having. Deafheaven comes without warning combining shoegaze and screamo in their post black metal and totally floor me with their debut album Roads To Judah. At first it seems like endless cacophony where all is just one big lump of tremolo guitars, blastbeat drums and screamo vocals. Then the music slows down, gives you a chance to gasp your breath and then bursts into full force again.
Only four songs clocking at 38 minutes, but when it's over you want to experience it again. The album closer Tunnel Of Trees gives you a hint what it is all about. Highly recommended!
